We Have Relocated!

KME Steelworks has Relocated!

We are very pleased to announce that we have successfully completed our move to The Green, Lambeg, Lisburn. We started the project in April 2018, when we began preparing the 55,000 Sq.Ft facility.

Since then, we have relocated our existing laser, press brakes, saws, plate rolls, CNC mill & lathe, surface finishing equipment, steel racks & stock, over 30 fabrication weld bays and our 85 members of staff. A 30,000-litre high pressure nitrogen system was installed to supply our lasers.

On the 27th June we took delivery of our new Trumpf TruLaser 5040 Fibre Laser with an 8kW source.

The Trumpf TruLaser 5040 can cut:

  • Carbon steel sheets up to 25mm
  • Stainless steel sheets up to 40mm
  • Aluminium sheets up to 25mm
  • Copper and brass up to 10mm

Work is still ongoing, with jobs ranging from painting floors to installing larger roller doors. We made an initial £1.5m investment in the latest laser technology and robotic welding cell which will arrive later in the year.

Our move to a bigger facility was made possible due to sustained levels of growth. This has allowed us to upgrade our machine technologies and increase our workforce, working towards our 3-year plan. We aim to retain our position as a market leader, by increasing our production capacity and the range of services we can offer.

We are pleased to say that all work was completed for the end of June target date and we are now back in production!
