KME’s design engineers use the latest 3D solidworks design software to produce conceptual designs through to large assembly designs. We can quickly produce production ready 2D drawings that clearly communicate how the design should be manufactured.

KME have invested in state of the art laser cutting technology to produce consistently accurate components across a wide range of materials and sheet thickness. We can supply cut only kits or carry out additional operations.

KME offer a wide range of fabrication services ranging from one-off prototyping to large production batches. Our fabricators have a wealth of experience working with a wide variety of materials including mild steels, stainless steel and aluminium.

KME are able to provide a comprehensive machining service. We have invested in the latest high precision CNC machines and skilled operators with years of experience. Our machine shop is capable of producing both low and high volume components using a wide range of materials.

KME have a range of highly accurate press brakes ranging in size from a compact 1m 36T machine up to a high speed 4m 220T machine. We also stock an extensive range of tooling in our tooling library which includes Rolla-vee dies to eliminate product marking and hole distortion.

KME have invested in surface finishing equipment for customers who require high standards of material preparation prior to painting. We can offer either round bowl vibratory finishing or a wet system for high end de-burring and finishing.

KME Steelworks are able to offer a wide range of surface finishing services including powder coating, wet painting, galvanising, anodising and plating through our approved partners. Our quality team ensure that our customers exact requirements are met as per specification.

KME work closely with our customers to find the perfect supply solution. For example we can sort and pack components into kits to avoid lost time and increase productivity or we can provide sub-assemblies containing bought in parts to reduce purchase orders and increase efficiency.

KME’s design engineers have developed a range of standard moulds for popular applications such as free standing walls, box culverts, barriers and livestock drinkers. This enables us to provide a proven mould in a short lead time.

KME have been involved with the design and manufacture of bespoke steel moulds since the formation of the company in 1980. We have a vast mould design  knowledge and are able to fully understand our customers application and we work closely with them to deliver a mould that meets their exact requirements.

European Regional Development Fund

KME Steelworks Ltd has received an Invest NI Grant for Research and Development, supporting company innovation in services, products and processes. Part financed by the Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme for Northern Ireland, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.  The project, Adjustable Staircaster Mould, will be implemented over the next 2 years and aims to produce an adjustable stair moulding machine capable of manufacturing concrete stairs within a range of parameters for tread height and depth.
